King Valley wine region
King Valley wineries include the well-known Brown Brothers at Milawa, through to tiny plantings which also happily welcome visitors to their cellar door. Italian red wine flourishes here.
For a long time the region has produced grapes that have lined the flavour profiles of many other districts' wines. This is now changing and new wineries and vineyards are producing everything from austere sparklers to rich and elegant reds including the Italian varietals, such as sangiovese, nebbiolo and barbera.
