Museums
Victoria boasts an exceptional collection of museums, many hosting national displays or curating world-renowned exhibits. The Melbourne Museum is a fusion of the old world and the new. Opposite the grand Royal Exhibition Buildings, it is segmented into several galleries, including a magnetic Children's Museum and the Bunjilaka Centre – a place where Aboriginal people can practise and present their culture.
Living museums abound in Victoria. Sovereign Hill in Ballarat is the site of the richest gold field in the world, and offers a fabulous re-creation of the hustle and bustle of life in Ballarat in the 1850s.
