Yanakie
Yanakie is located on the peninsula connecting the mainland to Wilsons Promontory, the southernmost point on the Australian mainland and a famous national park. Situated in a picturesque rural location overlooking rolling farmland, Yanakie is an ideal spot to stay and relax before and after visiting the Prom. Accommodation in the vicinity includes B&Bs, self-contained cottages and caravan parks. Yanakie village offers a licensed general store.
The beaches at nearby Corner Inlet and Shallow Inlet are only a few minutes drive from Yanakie and are located on either side of the peninsula. Not only are they top fishing spots, but they are also great for swimming, bird watching, bush walking, photography or simply admiring the unspoilt spectacular scenery of this southern coast area.

How to get there
Yanakie is located 186 kilometres south-east of Melbourne, around 2.5 hours along the South Gippsland Highway. Turn off at Meeniyan and travel through Fish Creek or continue though via Foster. Yanakie is approximately 25 kilometres from Foster or Fish Creek. The gate to Wilsons Promontory is located just a few kilometres past Yanakie. It is then a further 25 minutes to reach Tidal River.
