Alexandra Gardens

Enjoying the banks of the Yarra

The Alexandra Gardens feature extensive lawns with mature trees lining paths and roadways, ornamental gardens with palms and shrub borders, the Palm Lawn and Star Garden Bed. Established in the early 1900s, the gardens occupy 12 acres between the Yarra River and Alexandra Avenue.

The gardens are home to the Riverslide Skate Park, boathouses, bicycle hire, barbecues and are a major venue for the annual Moomba festival. The bike path along the river edge is part of the extensive Yarra River Trail.
