Parks and gardens Gippsland
The lush green countryside of Central Gippsland is home to many superb parks and private and public gardens. Springtime is a wonderful time of year to visit Gippsland to explore the many open gardens and floral displays. The Yarram Garden Festival is held annually in October and the Celebration of the Roses in Morwell is held annually in March.
Morwell Centenary Rose Garden
Gravel paths lead through garden structures and 4,000 rose bushes flourishing in four acres of parkland. Over 260 varieties of roses are planted in 110 beds displaying various colours. The garden never closes, admission is free and the best viewing time November to April. Free pruning demonstrations and cuttings in July. The garden plays host to many events including weddings, naming ceremonies, family reunions, remembrance days, music recitals and the annual Celebration of the Roses.

Dating back to 1860 and designed by William Guilfoyle, attractions include outstanding vistas, walks around two ornamental lakes, Fauna Park, sensory gardens, playground, environmental play area, tennis courts and barbecues.

Newman Park
Newman Park appeals to all ages. There is a large playground with slides, swings, climbing walls, sandpit, balancing apparatus, modern adventure playground and disabled equipment. Another attraction of the park is the miniature steam and diesel trains which operates in the park on the fourth Sunday of every month (weather permitting) and makes for a great family day. Electric BBQs, park benches, toilets and ample parking.

Victory Park
Adjoining Newman Park, across the footbridge is Victory Park. Take a walk along the Traralgon Creek or admire the marble sculpture Lars Compitalis, band rotunda, Traralgon RSL pine tree, the mountain ash tree stump and the lovely gardens.

APEX Park, Moe
Featuring an extensive adventure playground, slides, swings, electric BBQ facilities and toilets. A grass area provides youngsters room to run and set up ball games. Ample car parking makes it easily accessible.
